Relocating a much-loved garden
My name is Tammy Sudtelgte , and I am from LeMars , Iowa , the “ Ice Cream Capital of the World . ” I ’m admit pic to share the story of my “ old ” new garden .
In the saltation of 2019 , my husband and I purchased an empty quite a little to build a Modern home . The thought of leaving my garden behind never once crossed my judgment . Like my sexual love of gardening , many of my perennials came from grandparents and even not bad - grandparents over the years — trusted favorites such asNew England aster , Autumn Joy sedum , miniature iris , coral bells , and numeroushosta . The solar day that we break ground for the unexampled home , my female parent and I began the process of digging up most of my garden and bring it about 3 miles across township . I regain an out - of - the - fashion corner of the young property to service as a safe temporary plot during the building . The generous rainfall in 2019 was enceinte for flora ! about everything survived and boom , although it made for significant amounts of clay and delays in home building !
After finishing the terminal grading and astone retaining wallin late September , we moved my garden one more time . It was a joy to be able-bodied to separate and coiffe familiar plants in my raw garden quad , visualizing colour combining , size andtexture , and places for spring / summer bulb . It was truly a blank canvas ! Bright yearbook added in the spring of 2020 complement the green fullness of the perennials , giving ever changing scene and opportunities for cut system . bee , butterflies , and neighbors likewise really seemed to savour our new garden as a bright spot in the vicinity .

Just 12 months after being install in its unexampled dwelling house , the transplanted garden is exploding withautumn bloomand cheerfulness .
This was the temporary home for the plant before they got move to their permanent homes .
