Who cognise a cookie formula could have such a hold on childhood Christmas computer storage – but oh does it ever when it get to my Aunt Sis ’s Santa Claus Cookies !
There is n’t a Christmas time of year that go by that I do n’t mean about my Aunt Sis and her Santa cookies . To get my hands on one as a nipper was pure joyfulness . Those utterly adorn Santa ’s were n’t just toothsome , they were downright amazing !
And this past week , thanks to Mary , one of my cousins , and some help from a few of my sister too , I was able to live over the excitement and anticipation of tasting one of those cooky from her formula for the first time in nearly 30 + geezerhood .
And did it ever add Christmas memories flooding back in an instant !
My Aunt Sis’s Santa Claus Cookie Recipe
It was a custom among my prolonged family to visit each house during the Christmas season . I still remember lovingly head over to all of my Aunt and Uncles house during Christmas rift .
And add up from a large family , there were a lot of planetary house to visit ! But it was always so much fun . Not only would we get to see many of our cousins , there was always incredible food too . And yes , amazing cookies !
Whether it was heading to Aunt Helen & Johnny ’s , Aunt Bernie & Carl ’s , Aunt Mary & Leo ’s , or to any other of my many Aunt & Uncle ’s homes , the food for thought and laughter of the day simply made the Christmas season all it should be and more .
I certainly loved every house we went to . But as a minor , there was one sojourn I always secretly search to more than any other – and that was the head trip to see my Aunt Sis and Uncle Eddie .
For one , there was always something fun to do there . I remember heading out on the pool in front of their house to ice skate . Or playing checkers and calling card games in the cellar . But more than anything else – there was the prediction of Aunt Sis giving us one of her Santa Claus biscuit !
I still remember well the conversation from my mom in the car heading to Sis and Eddies . You know , the one where you are gently reminded of your style . Do n’t enquire for the cookie . Only take one . Say give thanks You . And of class , never ask for a 2d cookie unless she offers !
Unfortunately , my Aunt Sis passed away some years ago . But her flavor always live on , especially when Christmas rolls around . No matter the class , it always allow me call back just how special she was , and just how special all of our family line moments and store are .
And so it was that this class , Mary asked me if the recipe was still bear by any of the family . That if she could , she would strain to recreate a cookie or two for me .
Well , as you’re able to suppose , that set the wheels in move . A text to my cousin Marty strike the proverbial pot . Sure enough , she knew decent away what cookie I was talking about . Even better , she still had the formula on an index card .
And with the miracle of innovative engineering , within a few moment , there we were staring at Aunt Sis ’s magical Santa Claus Cookie Recipe !

It was n’t until ask my own sisters and phratry about the decorating of the biscuit that I find oneself out that Aunt Sis ’s Santa Claus recipe and cookie were a big memory for all .
They could return she used coconut to decorate his beard . And split a raisin in half for his eyes . And without fail , every one I spoke to about the cookie , and yes , even my mom – asked to have one made for them too !
As Mary fetch up decorating the first few and put them in the icebox to cool down , it was like being a kid all over again . Waiting , waiting , and then that gustatory sensation – it was nothing short of wizardly ! All of those memories hurry back at the same time in one single pungency . Well , then , many more snack !
Although we write out a lot of recipes for our sites into digital form – this one will always just stay on that index carte du jour . It is where it belongs . And for all who try it , may it somehow bring a small joyfulness to your place this Christmas Season too !
