McQueens Flowers has been commissioned by the RHS to create two original art installations at Chelsea Flower Show 2019 which will give visitant ’ minds to how bees see the human beings and ultimately heighten awareness of the recent declination in the bee population .
Honey , I ’m Home ! - The Artisan Area & Tree Tops Area - AT99A bee hive will be depicted with an igloo - like hexagonal honeycomb , taking two days to build , which will be the focus of The Artisan & Tree Tops Area installment . Under the counseling of McQueens Flower School , visitors will be invited into the hive to make their own 3D bee to help oneself create an original site - responsive nontextual matter . bee will be modelled out of dry out leaf , wood and Craspedia flowers which will then be add together to the hive . McQueens Flowers has cooperate with Dr David Lawson , bee behaviourist at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Bristol to help give insight into bees ’ behaviour and their relationship with flower .
The installations educate visitors as to how bees see bloom and the crucial role that they wager in grow a third of the food we eat . The aim is to emphasise the plight of bees , the importance of nurturing the bee population and indirectly invite people to join the effort to save them .
