Garden design awards announced at the Spring Fair 2024
BBC Gardeners ’ World giver , Frances Tophill , has presented awards to talented designers , landscape gardening teams and gardening student for their stunning show gardens at the BBC Gardeners ’ World Spring Fair at Beaulieu in the New Forest . The colorful , plant life - packed , annual Spring Fair is a festivity of the start of the spring horticulture and mature time of year and is expected to attract yard of 20,000 visitors between 3—5 May .
With twenty Feature and Showcase Gardens , Beautiful Borders and College Competition Gardens to take in , the Spring Fair ’s venire of show assessors had a tough job on their hands . Assessing the striking Showcase and College Competition Gardens were multi prize - bring home the bacon garden interior decorator , Richard Barnard ( Kings Oak Landscapes ) , Pippa Probert ( BBC Two Your Garden Made Perfect , Outer Spaces Landscaping and Design ) and Professor David Stevens . For the Beautiful Borders , assessors were Ian Hodgson , editor of Garden News , Anita Foy , the Hampshire - based garden designer , and Phil Tremayne , General Manager of the Association of Professional Landscapers .
Best Showcase Gardenand a Platinum award were presented to honour - succeed landscape graphic designer Matt Le Gassick , founder of Inbud , for The Inner Dancer . The garden was designed in partnership with Great Oaks School , a specialist secondary shoal in Southampton for young people with complex learning difficulties .

Best Beautiful Borderand aPlatinum awardwere presented to Southampton - based garden designers Andrew Williamson and Laura Hall forTogether . The designing was root on by the warm , welcoming and supportive quad furnish for people affected by cancer at Maggie ’s Southampton , and featured two unproblematic pulley block bench set amongst a woodland - mode clearing with soft , calming color and textures .
Best Interpretation of the Theme(Share My Space ) was grant to Pamela Barden from Woking - based Painted Fern Garden Design forThe Synthesis Border , a design featuring nectar - rich plant life species and nature - friendly features like a stone - filled kitty and a hedgehog house .
Best College Gardenand a Platinum award were confront to faculty and students from Guildford - free-base Merrist Wood College forEquilibrium . The budget - favorable excogitation included a living roof , recycle , upcycled and repurposed feature article , and two very different plant areas , one drought - large-minded and one flood - tolerant .
