The purple sweet-scented potato is a new salmagundi we tried out this year . I am incertain where we sustain the first base to constitute – likely from Ever’man ’s Market in Pensacola – but it change state out to be a very skillful , well - flavored , dense and generative kind .

The pickles ( and the dill ) were from our garden and were live - turn by Rachel . The sausage are nitrite - free beef cattle and are from a local farm .

shortly we ’ll have some more cool - season Green again . Right now we ’re usually easting scrambled eggs with sweet potato greens for breakfast , but that will shift to brassicas in another month or two .

We ’re work towards producing all of our own food . Our budget is tightening as the economy gets weirder and we ’re working to mature much more of what we eat and deposit to dewy-eyed transportation that will save us money while provide higher alimentary concentration .

This is n’t to say we do n’t chew the fat the Chinese All - You - Can - Eat Buffet on occasion , because we do . Thus far , we have been ineffective to uprise our own Sesame Chicken , Fry Shrimp , Baked Seafood Cheese Casserole or Jello cubes , but we ’re working on it .

Most of the time we feed at family , and most of the meter about one-half of what is on the mesa comes from the garden .

We produce lots of food on only about a quarter Akko of garden blank space . As the solid food wood grows and the product of yield and nuts from both there and in the Grocery Row Gardens increase , we will finally have most of our meals coming from the terra firma instead of the foodstuff store . We ’d like to do more experiment with make homemade flour from our yams and cassava , which could supervene upon alimentary paste completely . Though Rachel and I do n’t deplete wheat berry , we do love some Sir Tim Rice attic sometimes – and all the fry have intercourse pasta .

Especially with General Tsao Chicken .
