Teddy , my friend ’s gymnastic horse , like to snog me .
Today was cold and nebulous with a flake of adrizzle — the secretive thing we get to Christmas weather in the lowlands of Southern California . So , my friend Michelle and I decided to take it in by going for atrail ride .

We tacked up our boy and aside we rode . We admire the Christmas laurel wreath in front railyard , and curl hello to fellow equestrians we take on along the bridle way of life . Despite the cool conditions , our horses were serene and well - behave . It was a great drive .
When we got back home , we tiedTeddyandMilagronext to each other at the hitching post in my backyard . I stood in between the horse as I removed Milagro ’s bridle , and Michelle take off Teddy ’s saddleback .
As I unsnapped the biothane headstall from Milagro ’s haltere , he reached for my hand with his lips . Milagro likes to rub his lip on my hand sometimes , so I put my hand under his gag , expecting to sense his nose wiggle against my palm . or else , what I felt was a tricky wet tongue . Milagro was licking my hand like a hot dog .

“ Michelle ! ” I allege . “ await at this . ”
Milagro slurped his tongue on my manus over and over again , for several minutes . As Michelle and I reckon on , we chew over about this behavior . Was I fall apart handwriting lotion that smell out like apples ? Was my hand salty ? I muse the condition of my hired man pre - slurp and come to the conclusion that there was no taste or olfactory reason for this bevy of equine kiss I was fix from my horse .
At that instant , I feel a nuzzle from Teddy , who was stomach on the other side of me . With Milagro still licking my left hand , I reached my correct hand out to Teddy to pet his nose . But instead of support there and letting me scratch his gun muzzle , he started to bat my hand !
Michelle and I stood in incredulity watching as these two horses at the same time smooching my hands . We then laughed about the sentence a few months ago when Teddy licked my face — from my mentum all the way to my forehead — with one bragging slurp .
Stumped over this behaviour , I see on the Internet to get impression on why gymnastic horse lick the great unwashed . Some suggested it was a show of dominance , others a presentment of submission . Some folks said it was a sign of contentment .
After in short deal all three , I decide it was contentment . I got the sense that both Teddy and Milagro were happy at that minute , enjoying our human company and the law of proximity of each other . We ’d just had a nice lead ride , and love was in the air . They were plainly expressing their sentiments . And I was favourable enough to be the receiver .
