Jane’s garden in Maine, revisited

Happy Friday , GPODers ! We visited Jane Donelon ’s garden in Maine back in February ( refresh your memoryHERE ) , and back then , we only got a bantam glimpse of what her garden look like in summertime amidst a caboodle of photos if it under nose candy – which was big . But today she ’s showing us more of what ’s under the Baron Snow of Leicester ! Keep in nous that Jane sent me these picture and her words a couple of weeks ago , so do n’t get confused when she suppose it ’s almost June … 🙂

She says,“Our weather in Maine continues to be chilly and wordy , slow up increase but allowing us to savor the special lulu of the spring garden . I ’ve still a few tulips blooming and it ’s almost June . These photos are of my garden in May . Sorry I do n’t know the exact specie - especially of some of the crabapple trees–30 yrs . ago I was n’t as interested in knowing all the details as I am today .

“ Along the stone wall you will see baskets of amber draping below double peach Quince ‘ Cameo ’ and kerria with two-fold gold blossom . Lime spurge runs raving mad here – with some oversight and several variegated hostas they light up the subtlety . A Cercis canadensis and several different crab apple flush in the space . Above , an old ‘ Crimson King ’ maple tower with beautiful bark and leafage .

“ Walking beneath a weeping crabapple in full bloom in the south side garden , one passes cringe phlox , grape hyacinth , tulip , andPulmonaria‘Rubra ’ bound the slating path . The garden shed in the back ( no longer buried in Charles Percy Snow ! ) is circumvent by blue camassia , colombine , Jacob ’s run , and forget - me - nots , with queer in the window box . White sweet Cicely blooms in the herb garden beside the shed . To the right , march the bog , is blue creeping veronica , another lovely look primer coat cover that requires very close oversight , like the spurge along the Harlan Fisk Stone wall !

“ The gold section of the bog show trollius , Fillipendula‘Aurea ’ and ‘ Variegata ’ , blank candelabra primula , white shooting star , Hosta‘Sun Power ’ , and a forked gold marsh marigold . More white candelabrum primul and a variegated hosta communication channel the wooden walk to a gargantuan lily-white pine tree . To the right field is a curly willow and a few genus Camassia and leucojum in bloom ; astrantia and ligularia foliage show . The wine- and white - checker bells ofFritillaria meagriswere blossom earlier with the tiny leucojum bell , a weak green hellebore , sheeny ligularia leave with deep red bottom , and sundry lime ferns .

“ In the wild flower gardenEpimedium‘Lilafee ’ with dainty royal flowers and leaf is joined by leave - me - nots and a pallid pink Japanese primrose . And finally , along the forest path , Solomon ’s sealskin frames one of my favorites : lavenderGlaucidium palmatumwith maple - like leaves . Behind is blue lungwort and white corydalis bloom beneath long - gone - by Sanguinaria canadensis . Soon this spring scene will finally be change – the temperature for the next few days is call to be in the 80’s!”Lovely , Jane ! Give us another update soon !
