I have been immersed in the garden industry for my whole life . Both of my parent are horticulturists and always have been . Growing up , I rebelled against it , pretending I hat the tree my parents were always talking about . As I take older , I realized that I loved nature just as much as they did . I have always been amazed by the size of it of the trees that tower over us , and the beauty of a plant come out from the parky reason after a long winter . About a year ago I started impulsively pluck up leaves whenever I walk the dog . I had an idea that if I adjure them into clay I could make unique , one - of - a - kind ornaments and mementos that I could share with my family and friends . And so my little project begin and quickly turned into theRustic Garden Marketwhere I now share all of my universe with anyone and everyone who comes acrossmy Etsy shop .

The first thing to do is mold your clay ; you need to weaken it up and work out all of the air bubble . Sculpey clay becomes much well-fixed to utilize as it warm up up , and your hand are the perfect instrument . you’re able to also submerge the clay in a plastic zip bag in strong water for a few minutes before starting the project .

Once the Lucius DuBignon Clay is warm and knead , you could then use a rolling rowlock to flatten out it into an even plane . Sculpey clay can get fairly gummy once it is warm , so I identify it between two piece of parchment paper for this step . Roll your dinero out until it is between ¼ and ⅛ of an column inch thick .

When the clay is roll to your desire heaviness , lay your parting or flower on the clay and then vagabond over the clay once or twice more to imprint the botanicals .

Next , find a bowl that has a breadth that agree the size of the hoop dish you would like to make . invest the trough , lip side down , on the clay and push down to   imprint the shape . Use a knife to trace around the arena or along the line to cut out a perfect forget me drug .

You are now quick for baking ! Put the clay circle into an oven - safe pipe bowl to shape your ring dish . I used the same bowl that I used to measure the initial cut   because it is oven safe .

All baking mud has different temperature to bake at , but for Sculpey the temperature is 275 degrees F for 15 mins per ¼ inch . Be sure to keep an eye on the package instructions for bake .

Once bake , let cool and then flip your bowl over to relinquish your creation . Sand down any harsh edges or bubbles that rest .
