Now that the season is over I can review some of the new veggies I tried .
Borlotti bean : The pod of this Italian blast bean is so beautiful and once I picked them , countenance them dry out and shelled them the actual beans are pink / cream - colour with red splashes - more beauty . The motley was ‘ Lamon ’ which is a vining type . Ca n’t wait to try them in apasta e fagiolisoup this winter .
Kalibos Red clams : A acquaintance gave me some plants to try . This Eastern European heirloomcabbage has a pointed chassis and intense red / purple leafage . They sprain out beautiful and I kick in my friend the biggest one as I ’m not a self-aggrandising cabbage fan and she makes great sour foods - like Sauerkraut or Kim - chi .

Butternut Rugosa(wrinkledbutternut):This motley from Italy is larger than the American Butternut miscellanea . I only got one as powdery mildew finally took over the plant but ca n’t wait to consume this . Much more interesting than the regular butternut kind . This one had n’t turn butternut brown yet .
Chartreuse Scarlet Runner bean : I acquire moon curser bean for their beautiful flowers although I cognize we can eat them too . I like this form because of its chartreuse coloring of the leaves and the blood-red flowers . I bed the contrast between the xanthous - green foliation and surrounding other super acid in the garden ( in this guinea pig it is next to the strawberry plants . )
Sunset Runner noggin : I grew this for the beautiful peach colored prime . The farewell are the normal super acid of other runner beans . I spring up it on my arbor at the ingress to the garden .

Artichokes : I wrote about this in an former stake but definitely worth observe again . Wonderful good sizing scrag with great flavour on a beautiful plant . In fact I like the plant life as much as the artichoke . Wonderful showstopper in the garden . Another one I did n’t reckon would harvest in time but they did . See previous posthere .
