Six on Saturday. Magical May.

Are the rose wine the practiced ever this year ? And they are so other . They are so intoxicate it is difficult to take my attention by from them and pore on other flowers but glorious as they are , they merit a post of their own and there are other May beauties which should n’t go unsung . The weather is gloriously warm and sunny at the here and now so get ’s start with some cool and refined White . blanched flowers are always a delight , specially at dusk on a summer eventide . First of all some soft annuals which seed themselves every yr into a pleasing group . Orlaya grandifloraseems to stay around nicely here and so does the white corncockle , Agrostemma githago‘Ocean Pearls ’ and they attend endearing together .

Corncockle used to be a poisonous weed of the cornfield so do n’t corrode it . Each flower seem as if somebody has carefully drawn lines of footling browned dit along the petals .

Another easy pure livid yearbook which ego seed isOmphalodes linifolia , or if you prefer the common name , which I certainly do n’t ; ‘ Venus ’s Navelwort ’ . I favor to leave navel point out of this , the flowers count more like C of trivial stars rather than belly button .

I grew the next lovely white dianthus from cum two years ago thinking it was an annual but it comes back every twelvemonth and although it is very pretty , its chief magnet is the glorious aroma which travels some aloofness . I keep it in a smoke . Next year I shall spring up more so I have it all over the garden . I ca n’t baulk fragrant flower . I could n’t remember its name so I just find out my 2018 cum leaning and find two potential candidates and I don”t know which it is so perhaps somebody can assist me ? It must be eitherDianthusmonspessulanusorDianthus   superbus‘Spooky ’ . Any suggestions as to which ?   Next twelvemonth I will buy both again to make indisputable I get this A-one fragrant one .

Right , I seem to have get along to number six , so let ’s finish with some sizzling red , and you ca n’t get much redder than this delicious previous flowering tulip , Tulipa sprengeriwhich blooms when most tulips are just a memory . It is a wild tulip from Turkey where it is possibly now out . It is seldom offered in lightbulb catalogues so it is better to grow it from seed . It takes three to four long time to get flowers but it is deserving the wait , once you have it , it self- seeds but not very sky-high , it is good to collect the seeds and sow them yourself in a tidy sum outside , buried in the background so that it does n’t get frost . you could scatter them on the soil , but I prefer to know precisely where they are so they do n’t get weeded out . The seminal fluid and small bulbs have this awful whoremaster of pull themselves down in the pot and they do this when institute out too so never try and fag one up it will be very deep in the dirt . They wish a fishy billet .

The scarlet flowers have gilded anthers and the petals are beautifully marked with gold on the exterior .

Do go and determine out some of the other endearing Six on Saturdays .
