Containers let you make a garden anywhere
Today ’s photos are of Caroline Williams ’s Louisiana garden . ( suss out out her earliest Emily Price Post featuring a wonderful collection of tulipshere . )
Caroline sent in these photos of some of her container planting , which show that even if you only have a piffling place , you’re able to still make a beautiful garden ! You do n’t need much room , or even any actual soil , to fill some containers with heyday and other industrial plant . A lilliputian garden can be just as beautiful as a immense one , and it requires a lot less work and disbursement .
Gerbera daisies ( Gerbera jamesonii , zone 9–11 or as an annual ) used to just be find as cut flush at the florist , but new varieties are perfect for growing in containers as blossoming annuals . They do n’t love superhot conditions , so partial shadowiness will keep them growing more mirthfully in the areas with hot summers .

A view of Caroline ’s containers . Massing pots together allow you to create the effect of a mini - garden , and one that you’re able to rearrange any time you wish .
A ‘ black ’ whiskery iris ( Irisgermanica , Zones 3–9 ) . There are quite a few variety of bewhiskered iris marketed as black , and though they are all in reality just a very saturnine purple , they ’re very beautiful .
A miniature rose bloom happily in a container . Miniature versions of plants , be they roses or Lycopersicon esculentum , are always a nifty choice if you are container horticulture in a modest space . You get all the lulu but in a much smaller software system . There are countless varieties of miniature rosiness , with all the multifariousness of form , color , and fragrance of their larger cousins .

A view of how the tidy sum of roses fits into the larger garden . Do n’t let a small-scale space adjudge you back ! you could make a garden anywhere .
